Morocco Signals a New Era for Africa’s Industrial Rise as IMC 2025 Approaches
Marrakech – As Africa marks Africa Industrialization Day, Morocco is preparing to host the second edition of the Morocco International Mining Congress (IMC Morocco 2025), an event that underscores the continent’s accelerating industrial momentum and Morocco’s growing role at the center of this transformation.
Scheduled for November 24–26 at the Pickalbatros Golf Hotel in Marrakech, the congress is organized by the Federation of the Mineral Industry of Morocco (FDIM) in partnership with AME Trade Ltd, with support from the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and AMDIE.
The gathering comes at a time when global value chains are undergoing rapid restructuring, and Morocco is consolidating its position as one of Africa’s most advanced and competitive industrial platforms. The Kingdom has emerged as Africa’s top mining investment destination, ranked 18th globally by the Fraser Institute in 2025. It is already a world leader in phosphates and is expanding exploration in cobalt, copper, lithium, manganese, rare earths, and precious metals.
Morocco is also positioning itself as a regional hub for low-carbon manufacturing, supported by national strategies in renewables, battery materials, and green hydrogen. Its sophisticated logistics systems—spanning ports, free zones, and transcontinental corridors—further enable seamless industrial integration across Africa and beyond.
These strengths place Morocco firmly at the heart of Africa’s industrialization agenda, aligning with the United Nations’ vision for sustainable, inclusive, and climate-conscious growth. IMC Morocco 2025 is expected to attract more than 500 delegates and 50 speakers, including senior representatives from governments, mining companies, original equipment manufacturers, technology suppliers, financial institutions, and academia.
Over three days, the congress will chart Africa’s role in the global energy transition and the race for critical minerals, strengthen South–South alliances, and highlight Morocco’s integrated mining and industrial ecosystems. Sessions will showcase opportunities in exploration, processing, electromobility, renewables, and advanced materials, while also promoting responsible development through discussions on ESG, water management, skills development, women in mining, and logistics corridors. A ministerial roundtable, strategic debates, technical exchanges, and the IMC Morocco Mining Excellence Awards will further spotlight outstanding contributions to Africa’s mining sector.
As institutions worldwide reflect on Africa’s industrial priorities, IMC Morocco delivers a clear message: industrialization depends on secure, responsible, and sustainable access to strategic resources. Morocco’s regulatory reforms, investor-friendly policies, and commitment to decarbonized industrial expansion reinforce its role in shaping a more competitive and resilient African economy.
