Criterion Equipment’s heavy-duty 12-23-tonne forklifts play a critical role in maintaining productivity in demanding material handling applications. The combination of two engine output ratings, automatic transmission and a broad choice of standard and optional equipment enables each machine to be configured around every specific load, lift height and working environment.

Heavy-duty forklifts play a vital role wherever large, dense loads need to be moved reliably and safely.

In demanding environments, materials handling requires forklifts with the lifting capacity, power and operator control to safely move large components, raw materials and other substantial loads. Typical applications include ports, steel mills and container depots, as well as mining operations, timber yards and heavy manufacturing plants.

Criterion Equipment’s TCM heavy-duty range comprises seven diesel forklift models, with rated capacities from 12 000 kg to 23 000 kg.

TCM FD120-3, FD135-3, FD150S-3 and FD160S-3 forklifts cover the 12-16-tonne class and are rated at a 600 mm load centre. FD180-2, FD200-2 and FD230-2 machines offer capacities from 18 000 kg to 23 000 kg at a 900 mm load centre.

The 12, 13.5, 15 and 16-tonne trucks are powered by a turbocharged ISUZU 6BG1T six-cylinder diesel engine. Rated output is 114 kW (155 PS) at 2 000 r/min, with maximum torque of 537 Nm at 1 800 r/min. Power is transmitted through a TCM three-speed automatic powershift transmission, with three forward and three reverse speeds.

The 18, 20 and 23-tonne models, with an ISUZU 6BG1T six-cylinder diesel engine rated at 125 kW (170 PS) at 2 200 r/min, offers maximum torque of 537 Nm at 1 800 r/min. The three-speed automatic power-shift transmission has a finger-touch shift lever and selectable power or economy drive modes.

Maximum drawbar pull for the FD180-2, FD200-2 and FD230-2 forklifts is rated at 119 kN, with gradeability of 20% at 1.6 km/h for steep inclines under heavy loads.

Operators can select power or economy mode to suit the precise task and operating conditions. The transmission allows first-speed, second-speed or automatic shifting, while maximum travel speed is 34 km/h across the range.

A wide-view mast and full hydrostatic power steering are standard. The standard mast provides a maximum fork height of 3 000 mm, while optional high-mast configurations extend this to 6 000 mm. Load capacity at greater heights depends on the model and mast configuration.

Standard operator features include a durable overhead guard, an adjustable suspension seat with a seat belt, a tilt-adjustable steering column and rear-view and under-view mirrors.

The integrated instrument panel displays travel speed, fuel level, engine temperature and operating hours. Warning indicators alert the operator to conditions affecting the engine, brakes, transmission and air cleaner.

A wet-disc parking brake built into the transmission, together with an air dryer fitted as standard on the brake line, helps reduce routine maintenance and protects against brake-line freezing in cold conditions.

A back-up buzzer, electric horn, headlights, front turn signals, rear combination lights and reflectors assist operator and pedestrian awareness for greater safety on site.

An optional pillar-less cabin improves front visibility by 10% over conventional designs, while a multi-functional suspension seat, integrated instrument panel and electric parking brake enhance operator comfort and control.

Pneumatic tyres and front dual drive wheels are standard. Optional equipment enables the trucks to be adapted to different loads and operating requirements.

Specially designed accessories include hydraulic or manual fork positioners, a side-shifting device, fork-extension sleeves, long forks and high masts.

A steel cabin, air-conditioning, heater and de-mister, exhaust-purifying silencer and manual central greasing system are also available.
