Brightstar Resources Identifies 11 New Gold Targets at Western Australia’s Sandstone Project
Brightstar Resources has identified 11 priority gold exploration targets along the Two Mile Hill–Bull Oak corridor within its 3.6-million-ounce Sandstone gold project in Western Australia, with reverse circulation (RC) drilling scheduled to begin in November 2026.
The targets were defined through geological and geophysical analysis aimed at identifying mineralisation similar to the company’s existing Two Mile Hill-Shillington and Bull Oak deposits.
These two deposits contain a combined estimated 1.8 million ounces of gold, accounting for approximately half of Sandstone’s total mineral resource estimate (MRE).

Brightstar managing director Alex Rovira said recent exploration success at both deposits had prompted the company to reassess the wider potential of the Sandstone project.
“Recent exploration success at both Two Mile Hill and Bull Oak has highlighted the significance of these deposit styles within the Sandstone Greenstone Belt,” Rovira said.
He noted that both deposits are hosted by felsic intrusive units, a geological setting that could support further discoveries and contribute to future mining development.
Four prospects prioritised for drilling
The 11 targets range from areas with existing small mineral resources to previously undrilled geophysical anomalies. Several have been identified as ready for immediate exploration.
Brightstar has prioritised Twin Shafts, Bullet, Mt Klempt and Mt Klempt South for initial RC drilling, based on geological evidence and historical exploration results.
Previous drilling at Mt Klempt South returned an intersection of 9 metres grading 2.7 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 16 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 1 metre at 19.4g/t gold.
At Twin Shafts, historical drilling intersected 4 metres at 7.74g/t gold from 50 metres, indicating potential mineralisation beneath the prospect’s existing 6,000-ounce resource.
Rovira said the initial targeting programme had identified 11 intrusive-style targets supported by independent and complementary datasets.
Exploration builds on recent resource growth
The latest targeting programme follows encouraging results from Brightstar’s recent exploration activities.
At Bull Oak, drilling returned a high-grade intersection of 167 metres at 2.07g/t gold. Meanwhile, the Two Mile Hill resource nearly doubled to 1.45 million ounces, strengthening the project’s overall resource base.
Brightstar is also conducting a 6,500-metre deep-drilling campaign at Two Mile Hill, targeting additional mineralisation within the Shirvington Zone beneath the existing resource.
Further assay results from the programme are expected during November, while an updated Two Mile Hill mineral resource estimate and the Sandstone pre-feasibility study are scheduled for the December quarter.
A detailed ground gravity survey is also underway to refine regional exploration targets and identify additional prospective areas.
Broader exploration campaign planned for 2027
Initial drilling will concentrate on the most advanced prospects before Brightstar moves towards a broader exploration campaign across the Two Mile Hill–Bull Oak corridor in 2027.
The identification of 11 targets expands the company’s exploration pipeline at Sandstone and provides additional opportunities to grow its gold resource base.
The upcoming drilling results will help determine whether the newly identified prospects can deliver discoveries comparable to the established Two Mile Hill and Bull Oak deposits.
