AFEX And Groeneveld-BEKA Expand Fire Safety Partnership To South Africa And The U.K.

AFEX, a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty fire suppression systems, has expanded its strategic partnership with Groeneveld-BEKA to include South Africa and the United Kingdom, strengthening fire protection services for operators of heavy equipment in two key industrial markets.

The collaboration builds on a successful partnership established in July 2025, when the companies began working together across the United States and Canada. The latest expansion will provide mining, construction, forestry and other heavy equipment operators in South Africa and the U.K. with greater access to advanced fire suppression technology backed by local installation, maintenance and technical support.

Groeneveld-BEKA, a subsidiary of The Timken Company, is internationally recognised for its automatic lubrication systems, fluid management technologies and equipment support solutions. By integrating AFEX’s fire suppression systems into its service offering, the company aims to provide customers with a more comprehensive approach to equipment safety and reliability.

AFEX Vice President of Sales Ben Strader said effective fire suppression depends on more than simply installing a system. He noted that heavy equipment requires correctly designed solutions, professional installation and ongoing field support, making Groeneveld-BEKA an ideal partner due to its extensive experience with industrial machinery and customer service.

Groeneveld-BEKA National Sales Manager Colby Stroupe described the partnership as a natural fit, explaining that AFEX’s fire suppression technology complements the company’s existing equipment support portfolio while helping customers better manage fire risks in demanding operating environments.

The expanded agreement is particularly significant for South Africa, where mining and heavy industrial operations rely on large fleets of mobile equipment operating under harsh conditions. Fire incidents involving hydraulic systems, fuel lines and electrical components remain a major operational risk, making integrated fire suppression systems increasingly important for protecting workers, equipment and productivity.

Both companies have confirmed that additional regional expansion is planned, signalling their intention to further strengthen access to specialised fire protection solutions in other international markets.
