Resolute Mining Expects Syama Gold Production to Rebound After Mali Disruptions
Resolute Mining expects production at its flagship Syama gold mine in Mali to recover significantly in the fourth quarter of 2026 after months of operational disruptions affected output.
The Australian-listed miner said the operation in southwestern Mali had largely stabilised, with improvements expected in mining and processing performance. Syama is Resolute’s largest asset and accounts for approximately three-quarters of the group’s production guidance for the year.
According to the company’s third-quarter report, Syama produced 31,777 ounces of gold during the period. Output was affected by explosives shortages, delays in contractor mobilisation and supply-chain disruptions.

Resolute Chief Operating Officer Gavin Harris told analysts on Thursday that the operation had “largely stabilised after a turbulent four to five months”.
A new on-site emulsion plant, expected to begin operating in November, is also expected to remove a key operational bottleneck by improving the availability of explosives.
Fourth-quarter production recovery expected
Resolute is targeting Syama production of between 45,000 and 50,000 ounces in the fourth quarter as operational performance improves.
The company also expects mining grades to recover towards reserve levels, while processing plant recoveries are forecast to increase to approximately 80%, compared with around 73% in the third quarter.
The expected improvement would mark a significant recovery from the operational challenges experienced during the previous months.
Government engagement and permit renewals
Resolute Chief Executive Officer Chris Eger said the company continued to maintain a “very, very constructive and productive dialogue” with Mali’s government.
He also reported progress in the renewal of mining permits, an important issue for the company’s continued operations in the country.
The anticipated production recovery at Syama will be an important factor in Resolute’s overall performance, given the mine’s substantial contribution to its annual production outlook.
