Machines of Fortune: Metso Powers Twin Hills’ Gold Ambition

By Bradley Riviera, Editor – MiningFocus Africa

Namibia’s Twin Hills project is evolving from feasibility to front-runner. On July 27, Osino Resources confirmed a supply agreement with Metso Corporation, locking in delivery of modular crushers, multi-phase grinders, and advanced ore-handling systems tailored for Twin Hills’ complex mineralogy.

Slated to begin production in 2026, Twin Hills will yield 100,000 ounces annually, but Osino’s ambitions stretch well beyond output. The company is pioneering a model of ESG-integrated design, featuring dry-stack tailings, solar hybrid energy inputs, and real-time dust suppression.

This equipment suite isn’t just about throughput—it’s about resilience. Metso’s machinery can accommodate ore variability across three zones, reducing downtime and enabling flexible scheduling. Osino will also roll out a training academy in Erongo Region, certifying 300 Namibian operators in mine mechanics and process control by year-end.

Supported by Namibia’s streamlined permitting regime and regional infrastructure upgrades, Twin Hills reflects how mid-tier mining can lead with environmental credibility—and still remain profitable.
