Morocco grants four new exploration permits for gold mines

Morocco has granted four exploration licenses for gold mines to the Canadian company Stellar AfricaGold Inc. part of its plans to upgrade the exploitation of its natural resources.

The Canadian exploration company, which explores precious metals, has announced it secured the four new exploration permits to expand operations in Tichka, at approximately 80 kilometers south-southwest of Marrakech.

An addendum to an exploration agreement signed on August 18, 2020 by the company and the Moroccan National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) 2020 has been initialed to this end.

Four new exploration permits annexing to the initial Tichka-Est Gold Project have been granted to the Canadian company according to the new clause. The authorizations bring the company’s total number of licenses in Morocco to seven, covering an exploration area of 82 square kilometers in the Tichka Est Gold Project, located in the High Atlas Mountains.

“Two of the four additional permits are strategically located in relation to the two gold structures A and B recently discovered by Stellar’s extensive prospecting and trenching programs,” said the company.

Stellar indicated that it will immediately begin exploring the four new permits in order to take advantage of the region’s abundance of gold.
